First Demo on Surface SP1 from Cynergy
This definitely gets props for pushing the bounds aesthetically and demoing some great ideas. It could become even better by following a couple of principals enhance usability.
Public facing applications demand design that communicates incredibly well. Every interaction needs to be highly discoverable...especially when targeted at the broad age range of Cruise passengers.
The graphic and motion design of controllers should always make clear:
- What they do
- How they affect content
- How users can step back from any mistake they may make.
For instance, the demo above shows a whole timeline for the day. Usability would be improved if the content and controllers were visually coupled in a more obvious way.
One solution might be to have a duplicate slider that is associated with each piece of content and a confirmation button that allows user to order the desired adventure.
